This variation of the 7 Pot family yields a dark brown almost deep purple color and is sometimes referred to as the Chocolate 7 Pot. This is one of the hottest peppers in the world (check out the SHU rating below). The pepper has a bumpy or dimpled surface and begins as a green pepper before maturing to the dark color of the Douglah. The pepper grows to about 2 inches long. The flavoring is like many of the other 7 Pots with considerable heat and fruitiness, only this pepper also has a bit of nuttiness, which goes well when paired with earthy soups, chilis, and salsas.
