Chinese 5 Color Pepper Seeds

Size

With its many hues, the Chinese 5 Color is a real show stopper that brings in shades of purple and cream in the garden. Compact and easy to grow, these peppers mature like a rainbow in five colors and gains in heat as they change color, turning from cream, purple, yellow, orange, and finally red.  “5-color” is in the name, so it’s no surprise to how they transition to 5 different colors!  The Chinese 5 Color Pepper is a small, conical, ornamental type pepper that grows to about an inch in length and provides a sweet yet bitter flavor with an earthy aftertaste.  The Chinese 5 Color Pepper Plant grows over 4 feet tall and produces over 100 peppers per plant on average.  These are great to eat raw and cooked such as boiling, stir-frying, and roasting.  You can even make salsa, dips, and hot sauces!

Never Had Issues

Pepper Joes has been providing me with seeds for a few years now. I have 95 % germination always. I use peat pellets. Really not that difficult. Andrew's review about these seeds being garbage is garbage. No green thumb there. My 3 year old planted 10 reaper seeds last year and everyone of them produced a plethora of seeds. Great company, great seeds. Will never shop elsewhere for my spicy needs.

One of my favorites

I had great luck with them this year in South Florida. They grew fast and full of peppers in a larger pot in partial sun. The colors are amazing and they taste like a salad pepper crossed with a bit of cayenne, not too hot but warm. The invasive whiteflies common here love them so they need some prevention spray occasionaly. I have one that looks just like the one in the main pictures.

Garbage Seeds

Bought 5 varieties of pepper from this company, including this one, and all of the seeds were garbage. Livid, I gave these seeds so much TLC and optimum conditions; heat, moisture, soaking. Not a single god damn seed germinated even after 30+ days of waiting. Epic waste of time and money, I will never buy from this seller again.

Andrew, I am so sorry to hear this. If you ever have any issues with our seeds we ask that you plpease give us a call (888) 660-2276, so we can replacements out to asap. For the four varieties you left reviews on, we're seeing 70-85% germination rate under our hydroponics.
