This is my first time growing Thai peppers. After years of growing all of Pepper Joe's superhots, I thought I'd try these as hanging baskets and out of curiosity. I planted the Thai Compact, Thai Dragon and Thai Hot. They all did about the same as my other peppers, with about a 95% germination. They've been planted for a little less than 2 months and are doing fine. I have transplanted them into 6 inch pots and have pinched the tops as I do with all my peppers. The pinching slows things up a bit, but in my experience, the plants tend to be much sturdier, healthier looking and I think I get a better harvest. All the different Thais seem to be about the same size. At under 2 months, they are about 4 or 5 inches tall and bushy. They have a very slender, long leaf and a spread as wide as they are tall. I'm hoping these will make good hanging plants, but time will tell. So far I am very satisfied with the whole experience and hope to save some seeds and try again next year. I will hand it to Pepper Joe's for having excellent seeds. This year I am also growing three different varieties of tomatoes, and so far they are doing very well.
Thank you Pepper Joes!
Bought them and when it was finally planted seeds sprouted no problem.
Be patient it a learning experience. It's a way getting reconnect to nature and plant. Well worth the wait and grate learning experience for first time.
First, I'm pleased with the company. Second, I can only give 3 stars because not one seed germinated. There are so many variables in getting plants going that I don't blame the product, I'm just bummed that nothing has grown.
