7 Pot Douglah Pepper Seeds

Size

This variation of the 7 Pot family yields a dark brown almost deep purple color and is sometimes referred to as the Chocolate 7 Pot. This is one of the hottest peppers in the world (check out the SHU rating below). The pepper has a bumpy or dimpled surface and begins as a green pepper before maturing to the dark color of the Douglah. The pepper grows to about 2 inches long. The flavoring is like many of the other 7 Pots with considerable heat and fruitiness, only this pepper also has a bit of nuttiness, which goes well when paired with earthy soups, chilis, and salsas. The 7 Pot varieties are named for the ability to spice up 7 pots of stew with one pod. Do you think you can handle the heat?

100 PERCENTERS!

Purchased 10 seeds and got 13. ALL seeds have germinated and should be ready for transplant in a week or two.

Tasty

If you can get past the heat, they are really tasty.

The best part of the experiance is wondering if the pepper you just used in a recipie is a tolorable 1M scoville units, or a tongue numbing 1.8M scoville units.
Seriously... you can tell the difference.

Due to the wide heat variances, it's not suitable for eating contests.

non starters

I won't mark these down low as they were bonus seeds included in my order but felt that consumers may want to hear about this anyway. None of the 4 seeds sprouted despite being in ideal chili starting environment for nearly 2 months. they were overnight soaked in water, then a short bath in tea to soften the seed coat, then put in premium seed starting media in a greenhouse starter tray with a thermostat controlled heat mat set to 80 degrees under a grow lamp. granted they might have gotten cooked in shipping as they were ordered in the height of summer heat. another reason I am not marking too low. Aside from some Paprika, of which I have another review, all other seeds from that same order were great growers.
