Description:

Looking for a pepper with great upfront heat and an extremely refreshing flavor? Try growing our Aji Gold Pepper Seeds! Most of the Aji varieties hail from Peru, and some come from Ecuador and Chile. Luckily for us, they managed to make their way out of Central America and into our gardens around the world!

Plant these seeds and watch them flourish into 3 ft. tall pepper plants that grow sturdy and strong! The Aji Gold not only brings these plant characteristics to the table, but it also yields a bountiful harvest! They produce (on average) 50-100 pods per plant, so be prepared for large harvests. Aji Gold pods ripen from green to their bright yellow color at maturity with a nice smooth texture.

Aji Gold peppers have decent heat (up to 30,000 SHUs) and a refreshing citrusy flavor that goes great with just about anything, including salads, soups, and many Spanish dishes. Get your hands on these delectable Aji Gold pepper seeds!

Ají pepper seeds

I planted them but they haven’t come up.

Stephanie,
Thank you for your review on the Aji Gold Pepper Seeds. Pepper seeds can take up to 4-6 weeks to sprout so depending on when you planted them you may still see these come up! We also recommend using a heat mat and grow light to aid in germination. For more on our germination recommendations, please see the following link: https://pepperjoe.com/pages/gardening-tips-starting-peppers-from-seed. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at customerservice@pepperjoe.com.

Getting Started

So, you've received your seeds and are wondering what's next? At Pepper Joe's, we're committed to equipping you with everything you need to succeed in germinating the pepper seeds you've chosen. Our mission is to introduce you to a diverse array of pepper varieties, setting the stage for an exciting and rewarding gardening experience. Let's dive into the essentials together.

  • What You'll Need

    Soil and Tray Method

    Seed Starting Supplies
  • Plant your Seeds

    1. Pre-saturate your seed starting soil mix. Ensure the seed starting mix is fully saturated prior to planting your seed.
    2. Make a ¼-inch hole in the center of each seed starting cell. A #2 pencil eraser is a great tool for making these holes.
    3. Place your seed and cover gently with soil.
You can plant up to 4 seeds per cell to help ensure successful germination.
  • 4. Place your heat mat under  your base tray and your humidity dome on top. For best results, set your temperature controller between 75 - 80 degrees.

    5. Place your plant light above the seed starting tray and turn on. Refer to the plant light manufacturers instructions for the optimal distance. Plant light should remain on for 14 to 16 hours per day.

    6. Enjoy watching them grow! See our full instruction page below for more information.
