A cross between the Red Bhut Jolokia (Ghost Chile) and Pimenta De Neyde, is a new and rare pepper. This one has not yet been stabilized, which means there are still several variations. Colors vary but you can expect to see dark purples and reds, and even some black tones. They have a smooth and shiny texture with some irregularity in shape. They taste AMAZING with sweet, fruity, and earthy flavors. You gotta try this one. We know you’ll love it!

Interesting plants

I bought these seeds out of curiosity, having never seen a black pepper. 6/10 seeds sprouted readily and grew in a tent until spring rolled around. Plants are hardy and do well even in a hot summer. Each plant produced heavily. Pods start green, then turn a very dark purple/black color. Cool. Leave the pods alone and they change to red. Peppers are hot but not 600k to 800k Scoville. I ate these raw and while they're hot enough they're nowhere near a ghost pepper, or even a good habanero. They have a floral, slight sweet flavor. I threw a handful in homemade salsa and they gave it nice heat that even gringos can eat. Very nice pepper, worth the time and effort to grow.
