Black Prince Pepper Seeds

Seeds

The Black Prince pepper may be small but sure is pretty. This ornamental plant has beautiful purple flowers and will look spectacular in your garden. The peppers grow from black to red when mature but quite small, reaching only about a 1/2-inch long. They have a slightly sweet flavor and similar heat profile to a Cayenne pepper. They make a great and colorful addition to meals (and your garden)!

Good Job

Appreciate the quick service, can’t rate the peppers yet l live in Michigan! Peppers just sprouts! Service was awesome.Germination rate hard to tell? Hopefully more will sprout, using a heat mat but peppers are always tough to start!

Beautiful plant.

5 planted, 4 sprouted, 2 I continued growing. The others i gave to friends.

This is by far one of the most beautiful plants in my garden, i am asked about it ALL the time. The flavor is sweet and about as hot as a jalapeño, maybe a bit hotter but not by much. Even if you dont want to eat any the black green leaves and bright purple flowers and tiny black/red peppers popping out, its just amazing in a garden, i think i may trim my walk way to the front door in these next year.

Only problem i have had with these plants is it is a favorite of local aphids. I have been using a Neem oil and soap spray, this helps for about a week, then i have to spray again.

I have 16+ varieties of Peppers in my garden this year, and this and the chinese 5 color are by far the most beautiful.

Germination tips, use a starter tent with lights and heat pads. I start mine in an organic potting soil mix in 2.5in thick walled pots, with good drainage, and a humidity lid (a clear plastic cup). Keeping consistent temp and good moisture are extremely important with some of the more difficult plants. The old moist paper towel in a bag trick never seemed to work well for me.

Definitely going to be buying again. They are just too beautiful to not grow again.
