Description:

Long Red Narrow Cayenne Peppers, also known as Long Red Slim Cayenne peppers, is a great heirloom variety to grow in your own garden! They are much thinner than other Cayenne varieties, but provide the same amount of heat and flavor for your culinary uses!

Cayenne pepper plants are dependable producers and early enough for shorter summers. The pods are often curled, wrinkled, and twisted, and they grow to around 5-6" long with tapered ends. They’re so thin that they look like pencils!

The Long Red Narrow Cayenne pepper has a rich spicy flavor with just the right amount of heat for most folks. It's hotter than the Jalapeno but not as hot as a Habanero. If you're making a powder or flakes, try slightly roasting them in the oven with the broiler on before grinding up. Also, they are very good diced up fresh, and used to top off many dishes.

Wonderful Company

Hi, Just wanted to thank you for your wonderful seeds throughout the years that I have been buying them from your company. All of the seeds sprout. After many years of buying seeds from you and they all sprout, that is something. I ALWAYS sprout my seeds in a damp paper towel that I have wet in a measuring cup with water and Hydrogen Peroxide. I then wring out the paper towel and lay the number of seeds on the paper towel that I need and want. After folding up the paper towel and putting it into a baggie, I then set the bag inside a bread proofer at 78 degrees to 80 degrees. Peppers like to germinate with some heat, but I do most my seeds this way, actually, for planting in dirt or in hydroponics. After 3 days to 10 days, the seeds sprout in the paper towel. You then transfer them to dirt, or to hydroponics, or whatever. You can rely on Pepper Joe’s seeds. BTW, I was not paid or sent anything to give this review.
