If you love the insanely hot Naga peppers, you’ll definitely love the Red Naga Brain pepper. Some say this is a strain between the Brain Strain 7 Pod and Dorset Naga, or perhaps an accidental cross between the Red Naga and 7 Pot Brain Strain. One thing we’re sure about is this is a beast that will burn your tongue and throat, but their fruity flavors make up for the pain once you get past the blazing heat. We enjoy using this pepper for hot sauces, marinades, jams, and powders, and they are especially amazing in Asian cuisine!
The Red Naga pods will mature from green to red, and form very wrinkly, bumpy skins. We noticed they look similar to Nagas or Ghosts, so be sure to check which peppers you are growing if growing all three varieties! Red Naga Brain pepper plants are very productive and high-yielding and will grow to about 4 feet tall with eye-catching red pods covering the entire plant.
WARNING: Plants adjust to small, gradual changes in their environment better than sudden shifts, which is what the hardening off process is all about. Just as you get burned when you bare your untanned skin to the sun, leaves of plants started indoors will develop pale, sunburned patches if they are suddenly exposed to too much sun. The story has a happier ending when you introduce seedlings to bright light and sheltered breezes gradually, over a period of one to three weeks.Read more information onhow to harden off and transplant pepper plants in 6 steps.
