Description:

Hotter than the Tabasco and Cayenne peppers, the Thai Dragon pepper is a fantastic hybrid pepper with incredible flavor and heat! Also known as the Thai Volcano, these peppers aren't deemed "super hot," but their spicy flavor makes them feel like one!

The Thai Dragon pepper plants are incredibly prolific, producing up to 200 peppers! Luckily, the plants have strong branches that can steadily hold all their peppers. These will stretch up to 2-4" long, thin, curved, bright red peppers that’ll look gorgeous to decorate inside your home, on porches, or in your garden. The Thai Dragon hot pepper will ripen from green to bright red (like a dragon’s breath!) and are ready to harvest when they turn red. Keep in mind that they will dry easily on the plant or when picked. If some peppers are still on the plant during the end of summer, hang them indoors as a decoration piece and save them for some spicy recipes!

Expect some amazing fruity fiery flavors from this Thai pepper variety, along with incredible heat! These Thai Red Dragon peppers are great to add to a variety of culinary dishes, especially in Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, and Chinese cuisine. If you like Thai cooking or any spicy Asian-style cuisine, the Thai Dragon chili is perfect to grow as it is a common ingredient in many Asian dishes. You can freeze or pickle them, and they dry well for long storage.

Thai Dragon F1 Pepper Seeds

Getting Started

So, you've received your seeds and are wondering what's next? At Pepper Joe's, we're committed to equipping you with everything you need to succeed in germinating the pepper seeds you've chosen. Our mission is to introduce you to a diverse array of pepper varieties, setting the stage for an exciting and rewarding gardening experience. Let's dive into the essentials together.

  • What You'll Need

    Soil and Tray Method

    Seed Starting Supplies
  • Plant your Seeds

    1. Pre-saturate your seed starting soil mix. Ensure the seed starting mix is fully saturated prior to planting your seed.
    2. Make a ¼-inch hole in the center of each seed starting cell. A #2 pencil eraser is a great tool for making these holes.
    3. Place your seed and cover gently with soil.
You can plant up to 4 seeds per cell to help ensure successful germination.
  • 4. Place your heat mat under  your base tray and your humidity dome on top. For best results, set your temperature controller between 75 - 80 degrees.

    5. Place your plant light above the seed starting tray and turn on. Refer to the plant light manufacturers instructions for the optimal distance. Plant light should remain on for 14 to 16 hours per day.

    6. Enjoy watching them grow! See our full instruction page below for more information.
