This is the second year I've ordered these from Pepper Joe's and so far so very good. The plants came wrapped like little Babies. So very excited to have my favorite Peppers Growing in my Garden 😁

I purchased two Datil pepper plants in the spring. Planted them, pampered them, they grew into awesome plants about chest high. They were covered with blooms and then peppers. They are laden with green mature peppers, NONE are Datils! I have been growing datil plants for many decades, making kelly and red sauce with them. These plants from Pepper Joe's are hearty, BUT ARE NOT DATIL PEPPER PLANTS!
Datil peppers are very distinct odor wise, taste wise. I have waited for months to pick these peppers and to make and ship jelly and sauce. I picked a pepper today as they are still green., they are not Datil Peppers! So an entire season of feeding, pampering and watering has come and gone to find out all was for naught! There is no apology or replacement as growing season has come and gone. Larry Scott Marietta, Ga.

These are not real heirloom datil peppers. They do produce a lot of orange peppers that have way less heat and flavor than a true datil pepper. They don't have the same shape either. They look like elongated skinny bell peppers. If you want a datil pepper get them somewhere else. If you want a pepper similar to a datil that grows better in the north and produces a ton of peppers get these.. I guess.

The Datil Peppers are growing great here in South Florida. They do need a lot of attention due to the heat. Otherwise, I am very pleased with them from Pepper Joes. We will be purchasing additional varieties for the next growing season.

I must not have done something rite because both plants died on me after about a week.

Perfect plants and perfect containers for shipping. Very impressed. Not one pepper plant showed any signs of stress.

Both survived the mail. Hoping for plenty of peppers. If you struggle with seeds Pepper Joe's the way to go!

I transferred the plants to pots a couple of days after I received them. They are now about 18 inches tall. Will transfer them in the ground next week and hopefully peppers in the near future.

Plants arrived healthy followed directions on getting them started and now have transplanted to the garden where they are striving and doing very well!! Can’t wait till time to harvest!!

Everything was good

One of the two had no leaves on it when it arrived.needless to say,its dead.

They have super healthy pepper plants at fair prices. I’ll always buy my pepper plants from them!

Our awesome Datil Pepper Plants made it through two back to back hurricanes and are still standing tall. Love it..

Excellent pepper from St. Augustine. Just as hot as habanero from fruitier and nuttier.

Ok, the plants I received arrived in excellent condition.
As of now (55 days later) they are doing good (still alive). One is more robust than the other but that is expected. About to transplant to bigger pot and set with my other peppers under my carport which gets metered sunlight about 4-6 hrs ( Florida sun is intense).
So far, very satisfied. Can't wait for a harvest.

I’ve bought seeds and live peppers for the last couple of years. I’m an experienced gardener who knows how to harden plants and how to grow fresh m seeds. Pepper Joes product consistently fails to produce any joy. I will NEVER buy from them again. >$200 down the drain. #itsnotmeitsyou

All the seeds germinated and are all healthy plants . Very pleased .

Datil Pepper Plants

One looks good and one died.

So far of the two I ordered, one is doing well, and the other is struggling, but I ordered several different plants, and overall, I am sure I will do business with them again.

I ordered 4 plants. They arrived well packaged. Three of the plants are growing nicely. The fourth plant was very small when I received it and it is still struggling. I that is the reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5. I was happy with service from Pepper Joe’s.
