When and Why to Use a Blackout Dome

Not all microgreens require a blackout period, but many benefit from it. Crops like basil, peas, sunflower shoots, popcorn shoots, and arugula perform especially well when given time in darkness.

• Typical blackout times range from 2–3 days (fast growers like arugula) to 4–5 days (slower crops like basil)
