Description:

🌶️ Butch T Trinidad Scorpion Pepper Seeds – Former World’s Hottest Pepper (1,000,000+ SHU)

Meet the legendary Butch T Trinidad Scorpion, the pepper that shocked the world in 2011 when it claimed the title of World’s Hottest Pepper in the Guinness Book of World Records. This rare, highly sought-after Trinidad Scorpion strain is known for its blistering heat, fierce stinger tail, and surprisingly sweet, fruity flavor once the fire settles.

Plants reach about 3 feet tall and are heavy producers once established. Although the Butch T is a notoriously finicky germinator, patient growers are rewarded with vigorous plants that deliver outstanding yields of 2-inch wrinkled pods, each showcasing the iconic Scorpion “stinger.” Fruits ripen from green to bold red and can range from slightly shiny to deeply wrinkled, both natural for this strain. You may experience more elongated pods, as this strain is still unstable. Start your Butch T seeds strong with our Seed Starting Gear, including heat mats and controlled-humidity domes especially helpful for finicky chinense varieties.

With heat levels frequently passing the 1,000,000 Scoville Heat Unit mark, this pepper delivers an intense punch similar to the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion and Carolina Reaper, but with its own signature fruity, floral flavor profile. If you’re a collector, sauce maker, or thrill-seeking grower, the Butch T is an essential addition to your super-hot collection.

Getting Started

So, you've received your seeds and are wondering what's next? At Pepper Joe's, we're committed to equipping you with everything you need to succeed in germinating the pepper seeds you've chosen. Our mission is to introduce you to a diverse array of pepper varieties, setting the stage for an exciting and rewarding gardening experience. Let's dive into the essentials together.

  • What You'll Need

    Soil and Tray Method

    Seed Starting Supplies
  • Plant your Seeds

    1. Pre-saturate your seed starting soil mix. Ensure the seed starting mix is fully saturated prior to planting your seed.
    2. Make a ¼-inch hole in the center of each seed starting cell. A #2 pencil eraser is a great tool for making these holes.
    3. Place your seed and cover gently with soil.
You can plant up to 4 seeds per cell to help ensure successful germination.
  • 4. Place your heat mat under  your base tray and your humidity dome on top. For best results, set your temperature controller between 75 - 80 degrees.

    5. Place your plant light above the seed starting tray and turn on. Refer to the plant light manufacturers instructions for the optimal distance. Plant light should remain on for 14 to 16 hours per day.

    6. Enjoy watching them grow! See our full instruction page below for more information.
