Description:

The name behind the Mortgage Lifter Tomato comes from a West Virginia grower in the 1940s, who after cross breeding many large tomato varieties, he started selling these tomato plants for a $1 each and was able to pay of his $6,000 mortgage!

These almost 9 ft. tall tomato plants bear high yields of some HEAVY fruits, averaging 1-2 lbs. each with some weighing as much as 4 lbs! Make sure this plant is staked and has the appropriate support it needs to grow these fruits. Mortgage Lifter Tomatoes have a bright reddish pink color when they mature, which is when you get the most flavor out of them.

Enjoy the rich, sweet flavors of Mortgage Lifter Tomatoes. These large fruits are juicy and can be eaten as is, sliced up for sandwiches and other fresh foods, or cooked in with cuisines that call for a sweet, zesty taste.

This is an indeterminate tomato variety.

Ordered several tomatoes and peppers off this site. Really pleased with the results. I've had around a 95% germination rate
