The Habanero pepper, a hot variety of chili pepper, originally came from the Amazon until reaching its way to Mexico and is the main ingredient in most jerk seasonings. The pepper pod will grow to 1-3 inches long, with a common orange, smooth skin that will display well in your kitchen. The habanero is known for its delicious, smoky, fruity, and sweet flavors, and provides a heat that is sure to set a fire in your mouth. With so many flavors bouncing, this pepper is great for hot sauces, powders, and rubs! You will find that this particular variety of pepper is a PROLIFIC producer, and you will have no shortage of habaneros when harvesting time comes around.

WARNING: Plants adjust to small, gradual changes in their environment better than sudden shifts, which is what the hardening off process is all about. Just as you get burned when you bare your untanned skin to the sun, leaves of plants started indoors will develop pale, sunburned patches if they are suddenly exposed to too much sun. The story has a happier ending when you introduce seedlings to bright light and sheltered breezes gradually, over a period of one to three weeks. Read more information on how to harden off and transplant pepper plants in 6 steps.

This plant arrived healthy. However based on its size, I didn’t think it was going to make it or provide any peppers this season. This plant fooled me. It is currently giving us peppers.
We purchased six hot pepper plants (cherry pepper, jalapeño, and habanero). They arrived carefully packaged, and the planting tips were very helpful. All are thriving on our balcony, and we’ll have hot peppers and homemade hot sauce soon! Will definitely order from Pepper Joe’s again.
Habanero pepper is my favorite to give my meal the heat I need, and the flavor is added bonus. So I always have several plants going, which I always get from Pepper Joes. Along with scotch bonnets, another favorite.
Arrived fast and in great shape. Been growing extremely well!
