Peter Pepper (Chili Willy) Plant Info

Fun Fact: it is judged the "MOST PORNOGRAPHIC PEPPER" By Organic Gardening Magazine.

Species: Capsicum Annuum

Heat Level: 5,000-30,000 Scoville Heat Units

Type: Novelty, Hot

Origin: United States

Seedling Age: 3-4 Months

Seedling Size: 2-8 Inches Tall

This is a pepper with a silly shape, and you may have heard people talking about its shape. It is absolutely the novelty of the garden because as the name implies, this “guy” is shaped very realistically. You will be the talk of your neighborhood as they will want to take a peek at this pepper, and it is a real conversation piece. Once you get past the laughs, you cannot go wrong with growing the Peter Pepper plant because the peppers are super tasty and delicious. The Red Peter Pepper tastes similar to the bright, crisp taste of the jalapeno, but just a bit sweeter. It has a thick fleshy pod that is fairly hot with a unique spicy flavor, and this hot Peter pepper can easily replace the jalapeno if you want to step up the heat in your dish. Everybody needs to try to grow this pepper at least once!

WARNING: Plants adjust to small, gradual changes in their environment better than sudden shifts, which is what the hardening off process is all about. Just as you get burned when you bare your untanned skin to the sun, leaves of plants started indoors will develop pale, sunburned patches if they are suddenly exposed to too much sun. The story has a happier ending when you introduce seedlings to bright light and sheltered breezes gradually, over a period of one to three weeks. Read more information on how to harden off and transplant pepper plants in 6 steps.

My Carolina Reaper and Peter Pepper plants both arrived in good shape. They have been growing well since I put them in pots. Now I am about to plant them outdoors.
