Description:

The Aji Mango Pepper is a captivating chili variety originating from Peru. It is known for its fruity and citrusy taste similar to mangoes. Like the Aji Amarillo Pepper, it has a moderate heat level, catering to a broad palate range.

These elongated peppers begin with green to yellow and transition to a gorgeous orange as they reach full ripeness. Aji Mango Pepper Plants grow to about 3-4 feet tall and grow 2-3" sized pepper pods.

If you want to enjoy spice without overwhelming intensity, this pepper is right up your alley. It has a Scoville Heat Level of 100,000 to 150,000+ SHUs. Ideal for salsas, sauces, and marinades, the Aji Mango Pepper lends a tropical and mildly spicy kick to a variety of dishes. It is not only delicious, but it is also a visually stunning variety to add to your garden.

Try try again

First attempt at germinating the ahi mango seeds failed. The other three varieties I ordered were a success. Knowing that nothing is a sure thing I am giving the ahi’s another go and started the second trial yesterday.

Patricia,
Thank you for your review on the Aji Mango Pepper Seeds! We are so sorry to hear that your first attempt at germinating these failed. This could be due to many different reasons as pepper seeds can often be tricky to germinate. The following link has some helpful tips for germination: https://pepperjoe.com/pages/gardening-tips-starting-peppers-from-seed. If you are unable to get any from your second trial to germinate – our team would be happy to provide resolution! You can contact us by emailing customerservice@pepperjoe.com.

  • What You'll Need

    Soil and Tray Method

    Seed Starting Supplies
  • Plant your Seeds

    1. Pre-saturate your seed starting soil mix. Ensure the seed starting mix is fully saturated prior to planting your seed.
    2. Make a ¼-inch hole in the center of each seed starting cell. A #2 pencil eraser is a great tool for making these holes.
    3. Place your seed and cover gently with soil.
You can plant up to 4 seeds per cell to help ensure successful germination.
  • 4. Place your heat mat under  your base tray and your humidity dome on top. For best results, set your temperature controller between 75 - 80 degrees.

    5. Place your plant light above the seed starting tray and turn on. Refer to the plant light manufacturers instructions for the optimal distance. Plant light should remain on for 14 to 16 hours per day.

    6. Enjoy watching them grow! See our full instruction page below for more information.
