A very common pepper to use in Peruvian cooking, the Marisol Chile Pepper is a great addition to any dish. The name Mirasol means in Spanish “looking at the sun,” because it grows in an upward direction on the plant. This conical-shaped pepper plant grows to 30 inches tall, and the pepper commonly grows to four to five inches long, and about an inch to two inches wide. The Marisol Pepper has a unique spicy flavor with tones of fruity and berry-like, and it is direct and intense once you taste it! Ripens from green to dark red with thin skin, this is great for roasting, salsas, seasoning, sauces, and poultry dishes.
Fun Fact: The Marisol Pepper sometimes is called Guajillo when dried, but don’t get it confused! it is not the Guajillo pepper as it is a totally different flavor.
