Description:

Biquinho Red pepper seeds, a popular snacking pepper from Brazil, also known as Sweety Drop peppers, or Little Beak, packs a lot of sweet flavors and a subtle kick.

The Red Biquinho pepper plant is a sturdy, upright, and heavily branched 2’ plant. This pepper has coined the nickname, “little-beak” due to its shape as they appear to have beak-shaped tails. These beauties ripen from green to vibrant red.

These chilis have a tropical, fruity flavor with some tart flavor and slight heat, which makes them easy to incorporate into many culinary uses. These little guys are mostly known for being pickled in vinegar and/or served as an appetizer. You can even try popping them in your mouth for a burst of exciting flavor! Get your packet of Sweety Drop pepper seeds while you can!

Fun Fact: They are called “Sweety Drops” in gourmet stores when sold pickled, and locals call them “Chupetinho” where they are now marketed fresh and pickled throughout Brazil and Peru.

So far so good.

I planted 3 of the 10 seeds I have bought and all three sprouted within a week. All three are about an inch and half tall at this point, but the are growing and growing strong. I can not wait for these bad boys to be ready.

  • What You'll Need

    Soil and Tray Method

    Seed Starting Supplies
  • Plant your Seeds

    1. Pre-saturate your seed starting soil mix. Ensure the seed starting mix is fully saturated prior to planting your seed.
    2. Make a ¼-inch hole in the center of each seed starting cell. A #2 pencil eraser is a great tool for making these holes.
    3. Place your seed and cover gently with soil.
You can plant up to 4 seeds per cell to help ensure successful germination.
  • 4. Place your heat mat under  your base tray and your humidity dome on top. For best results, set your temperature controller between 75 - 80 degrees.

    5. Place your plant light above the seed starting tray and turn on. Refer to the plant light manufacturers instructions for the optimal distance. Plant light should remain on for 14 to 16 hours per day.

    6. Enjoy watching them grow! See our full instruction page below for more information.
