This mild hot red pepper was first released in 1952 and named after the city in California. Today, many consider it to be one of the best peppers out there. These Fresno Pepper Plants produce beautiful red 2-inch pods with a fruity, slightly smokey flavor and mild heat that is slightly hotter than a standard Jalapeno. Whatever you choose to do with your Fresno Pepper harvest, these healthy live pepper seedlings give you a headstart to it all!

WARNING: Plants adjust to small, gradual changes in their environment better than sudden shifts, which is what the hardening off process is all about. Just as you get burned when you bare your untanned skin to the sun, leaves of plants started indoors will develop pale, sunburned patches if they are suddenly exposed to too much sun. The story has a happier ending when you introduce seedlings to bright light and sheltered breezes gradually, over a period of one to three weeks. Read more information on how to harden off and transplant pepper plants in 6 steps.

Fresno Pepper Plants - Live Red Fresno Chili Seedlings

J
Jack Dennison

Ordered some fresnos, aji limon, and scotch bonnet seedlings. They were pretty rootbound and struggled after transplanting. The leaves all fell off, but now they’ve been replaced by fresh ones. They are now robust but have not grown much in height.

Small for the price.

Fresno Chili plants are growing well. But, they arrived very small for the price. At $7.50 a piece, they should have been larger than a couple inches with a few leaves (3-5). I was expecting a much larger plant. Compared to much better developed plants for purchase at Lowes for 3-4 dollars, these were definitely surprisingly small for the money paid.

These plants were delivered bare of leaves

I ordered 4? live Fresno pepper plants. As implied by the title, they didn't make it. I've gotten quality products from Pepper Joes before, but maybe this isn't their thing.

Thank you for providing us with feedback and we are sorry to hear about your experience. Please email your order number to customerservice@pepperjoe.com and we'd be happy to look into this.
