Jigsaw Gator Pepper Plant Info

Species: Capsicum Chinense

Heat Level: Unknown, but on the extreme end

Type: SuperHot

Origin: Italy

Seedling Age: 8 weeks on September 20th

Seedling Size: 2-3 Inches Tall

Gator Jigsaw pepper plants produce huge yellowish-green pods with high levels of heat. Many people believe the Gator Jigsaw is hotter than the Carolina Reaper and are convinced that it is in fact the mysterious Pepper X. We can confirm that the heat is on the extreme end of the spectrum but it doesn’t linger as long as other super hots tend to. The flavor is strong and earthy, making for a delicious green hot sauce. Expect these Gator Jigsaw chili plants to grow up to 4 feet tall. Pods will ripen very subtly, from green to a light mellow green/yellow. Keep a close eye on this so you pick when ripe.

WARNING: Plants adjust to small, gradual changes in their environment better than sudden shifts, which is what the hardening off process is all about. Just as you get burned when you bare your untanned skin to the sun, leaves of plants started indoors will develop pale, sunburned patches if they are suddenly exposed to too much sun. The story has a happier ending when you introduce seedlings to bright light and sheltered breezes gradually, over a period of one to three weeks. Read more information on how to harden off and transplant pepper plants in 6 steps.

Gator jigsaw peppers

Had several plants come in looking not so good with some kind of weird looking spots on leaves like a bacterial spot. But the reps told me when they when they send their plants that could be heat stress but they ahead and sent more new plants anyway. Happy to say they look much better now after getting transplanted. Customer service was great 😃
