This is my first year growing the yellow scotch bonnet. This plant was insanely productive. I have gotten alot of pods of this guy. I get 2 to 4 pods a day. So I can make a hot sauce every other week. Then the heat was hotter than I expected. It was far hotter than any of my habeneros. Thanks pepper Joe. This is one very productive plant. It was beyond my expectations.
Picked my first one and there are more on three other plants that are turning. I ate half of it and was surprised by little heat but the fruity citrus flavor was there. So i picked up the other half and munched on it. Wow the heat was in this half!! Much more than a jalapeño but less than the chocolate habanero. This is a great addition to the selection this year ( chocolate habanero and apocalypse scorpion 🦂). Thanks and i will have to get additional peppers next year. I started these from seeds in March.
Well i just received the package witch i am very excited about, it would be hard to review. I am going to grow them indoor so i will rate it at 5stars for now because of pass success with your seeds. I will update when i am finished. Thank you pepper joe!!
I chose these for a fruity/citrus pepper due to my liking of fatali, aji lemon (lemon drop), and they have not disappointed. Similar heats to the aforementioned peppers and I have been chopping them up in everything and eating them whole. Perfect blend of flavor and heat.
As another person said, I’m getting the right shapes off my plants but getting less than 5k shu. A fairly good taste to it, but if you want heat this ain’t it!
HI Mark, try pinching off the 1st 3-4 pods you are getting and do not eat those. Consume some of the later pods and you should see more heat in those!
