Description:

A rare variation of a 7 Pot, the Barrackpore pepper is still amongst the hottest peppers in the world, even hotter than the 7 Pot standard.

This plant will grow to be about 4 ft tall and is very productive. On the larger side of the 7 Pot peppers, the Barrackpore gets to be about 3 inches long, has dimples and a wrinkly appearance, and sometimes grows a tail, like a scorpion pepper. Pods will mature from green to a bright red color.

The 7 Pot varieties are named for the ability to spice up 7 pots of stew with one pod. The Barrackpore is a little bit sweet but has more bitterness than its relatives. These peppers are the perfect variety to use dried and in pepper powder form.

Still growing

I've waited a long time to grow some of these beauties! Now I've got several that are a few inches tall, awaiting the time when they can grow unrestricted in the garden.
