Description:

A staple in Peruvian cuisines! The Aji Amarillo is Native to South America and is the largest pepper of the Aji pepper family.

Aji Amarillo pepper plants grow to be sturdy, 3 ft, tall plants and are very productive. Pods are longer than other Aji pepper varieties, reaching 4-5" long, and maturing to a bright orange color with thick flesh and shiny, smooth skin.

The Aji Amarillo is BURSTING with an amazingly fruity, almost berry-like flavor. The heat is no joke either, coming in at a mere 30,000 - 50,000 Scoville Heat Units. Its most common appearance in Peruvian culture is in the form of a paste, but can be found used in a handful of Spanish dishes! Such a fantastic pepper and very versatile!

Waiting Game

Germinated 1 Aji Amarillo and Aji Gold in September 2021, got mixed up so I don't know which one I have now 1 died. First time grower. Tried to post a picture and couldn't. Growing well now and starting to flower. Will see.

Can't wait!

These seeds have exceeded expectations. I read another review that they had a low germination rate so I planted 8 seeds hopeful to get 2-3 to grow. 8 out of 8 grew. They are still in the house waiting for it to get warm enough to plant but I have high expectations of these plants!
