Description:

Check out the rare white color on the famous Ghost Pepper Chile! The eye-catching White Ghost pepper will be the talk amongst your gardening friends, as this exotic variety produces the same flavor and heat as the original Ghost pepper with a Heat Level of 1,000,000+ Scoville Heat Units.

Features:

  • The White Ghost pepper plant is a productive one, growing to about 3-4 ft. tall.
  • White Ghost pepper pods have the same shapes as other Ghost varieties, including the pendant shape and bumpy texture.
  • The 2" long pods start as a light green and ripen to a creamy white color when they reach maturity.

Culinary Uses:

  • The heat is comparable to the other variants of the Bhut Jolokia and has a nice fruity flavor that kicks in almost right away. You can use it for just about anything but it’s especially great in hot sauces.

White Ghost

Slow to germinate, but like a lot of super-hots, they just take time to sprout. I had 4 out of 5 come up and were healthy since day 1. Growth rate is on par with my other Chinense species that were started at the same time. I grew these last year indoors as well and while they were healthy and good producers, they didn’t turn WHITE for me. They did taste pretty much identical to a regular Bhut though, and pretty similar pod shape. Trying again next year with what’s hopefully a different batch of seeds from Pepper Joes. If any are white, they will be getting cloned out for sure.

  • What You'll Need

    Soil and Tray Method

    Seed Starting Supplies
  • Plant your Seeds

    1. Pre-saturate your seed starting soil mix. Ensure the seed starting mix is fully saturated prior to planting your seed.
    2. Make a ¼-inch hole in the center of each seed starting cell. A #2 pencil eraser is a great tool for making these holes.
    3. Place your seed and cover gently with soil.
You can plant up to 4 seeds per cell to help ensure successful germination.
  • 4. Place your heat mat under  your base tray and your humidity dome on top. For best results, set your temperature controller between 75 - 80 degrees.

    5. Place your plant light above the seed starting tray and turn on. Refer to the plant light manufacturers instructions for the optimal distance. Plant light should remain on for 14 to 16 hours per day.

    6. Enjoy watching them grow! See our full instruction page below for more information.
