Description:

Small, crinkled, and with a shiny golden hue, there’s no surprise where the name of these peppers came from. Golden Nugget peppers arrived from Pontiac, Michigan by grower Martha Perry, and these plants produce some tiny, beautiful, miniature peppers.

These plants are compact and grow to about a foot-and-a-half tall, bearing many little fruits that barely grow to 3/4” in length. Watch as these peppers start green, turning to a very dark purple before lighting up and ripening to their signature golden orange color at maturity. They do, in fact, look like little golden nuggets – small, lantern-shaped, and shiny!

Golden Nugget pepper plants are great ornamental plants to put wherever you see fit; however, many people use these peppers for their incredible spiciness and fruity flavors. Use these peppers sparingly, as their heat can reach up to 50,000 SHUs! Chop peppers into fresh foods and salads or dry them into a nice spicy powder.
