Description:

Looking for a pepper to make you cry...in a good way? The Habanero Mayan Red pepper, or also known as the Habanero Maya Red pepper, is an outstanding pepper to grow but will burn your tongue pretty quickly! The pepper plant will produce 3-4 inches long bright red, glossy, lantern-shaped peppers, and the peppers are longer and more slender than the typical Habanero. These peppers will ripen from green to bright red, and it can be ready to eat when they are green after 70 days or when they are red around 90 days. The red habanero peppers are similar in shape to the Paper Lantern pepper, but these are larger. Once you take a bite of the crunchy, juicy pepper, you’ll taste sweet, fruity tones with a less Habanero flavor.

The pepper plants have early maturity and produce well in cooler climates. So, if you live in a northern climate and love super-hot peppers, then you must try growing these peppers! These peppers are great for making sauces and marinades, and are also good for frying and making chili powder.

Mayan Red Pepper Seeds

18 days since planting in peat pods; 30% germination, disappointed!
Others I bought at same time are worse...only 3/21 germination.

Hello, here is a good video on how we have such successful germinating. Keep in mind it can take up to 6 weeks for germination. Let us know if you would like additional help! Thank you!

Amazing!!!

I was surprised at how fast the plant started to grow. At first just one began to grow but 2 days after every single one started to grow. It’s my first time doing this and I noticed these seeds and the rest I purchased grow faster and stronger with filtered water. Not sure if it plays a role but so far that is what is helping these plants grow strong .
