Yellow Lemon Drop Peppers are a tasty, hot, and extremely prolific pepper variety. Like most in the Aji family, these pepper plants originated in Peru but are now enjoyed across the world. Heat is similar to a Serrano or Cayenne, but with a tangy citrus flavor that goes great with chicken and fish dishes. Aji Lemon Drop peppers are also great for making delicious powder, flakes, salsas, and hot sauces. Yellow Lemon Drop plants grow about 3-feet tall and produce hundreds of thin-walled peppers that ripen from green to bright yellow.

WARNING: Plants adjust to small, gradual changes in their environment better than sudden shifts, which is what the hardening off process is all about. Just as you get burned when you bare your untanned skin to the sun, leaves of plants started indoors will develop pale, sunburned patches if they are suddenly exposed to too much sun. The story has a happier ending when you introduce seedlings to bright light and sheltered breezes gradually, over a period of one to three weeks. Read more information on how to harden off and transplant pepper plants in 6 steps.

My favorite pepper this year

I've planted these a few different places to find the ultimate spot. Full sun with lots of water is the winner. The flavor of this pepper is amazing!
