Between its jaw-dropping pastel colors and a strong tolerance for heat, drought, wind, and rain – it’s no wonder NuMex Easter was a 2014 All-America Award Winner! Developed out of the NMSU Chili Pepper Institute, this ornamental variety is one you'll want to grow in your garden!

NuMex Easter plants are compact enough to grow in containers, reaching just under 1 ft. tall and about 10 inches wide, allowing a wide variety of planting applications and visual enjoyment. These are early maturing plants, growing tiny, 1" long pods that are grouped into clusters and point upwards. They are shaped like miniature teardrops, tapering off to a point, and ripening into beautiful Easter-like colors such as purple, yellow, orange, and cream.

NuMex Easter peppers are certainly ornamental, but also edible with a nice kick of heat. Try them in salsa!

Very Good Results so far

The plants are growing and starting to bloom.

Seeds received were clearly not NuMex Easter

The seeds I received were clearly not NuMex Easter seeds. The plants have grown well-over the 12-inch average height (with one reaching 3 feet tall), the peppers grow in singletons rather than clusters, and the peppers are green and turn red when ripe. They have none of the bright Easter-colors this cultivar is known for. The plants are healthy and the seeds germinated just fine, but this isn't what I ordered.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us review. We're sorry to hear that these did not grow into NuMex Easter seeds. Our customer service team would be happy to look into this. Please send any pictures you have of your plants and your order number to us at
