Description:

Orange Scotch Bonnet peppers are a great very hot pepper variety originating from Jamaica. The gorgeous orange hue of these peppers will remind you of a setting sun in a tropical paradise...and the taste will help you visualize a Caribbean vacation!

These pepper plants grow up to 3 ft. tall and produce great yields of these small, 2" long pepper pods. Shaped like miniature bonnets, these peppers have similar features to Habaneros, growing off plants that perform well in both the garden and in containers. You'll see these hot peppers mature from green to their captivating orange color when they're ready to be picked.

You'll enjoy the smoky and fruity flavors of the Orange Scotch Bonnet along with its fiery heat, which can reach beyond 350,000 SHUs! This is a great variety for cooking with meat like chicken or pork. Dry these peppers up and spread them over top of your meat to get that "Jerk Seasoning" taste. Get your hands on the Orange Scotch Bonnet pepper seeds!

Great end result

First time buying seeds through the mail and using Pepper Joe’s company. Great results. Some sprouting after a week some at 2 weeks and slightly longer. Transplanted them today. Another week or so before going outdoors. Thanks for the opportunity to give feedback

  • What You'll Need

    Soil and Tray Method

    Seed Starting Supplies
  • Plant your Seeds

    1. Pre-saturate your seed starting soil mix. Ensure the seed starting mix is fully saturated prior to planting your seed.
    2. Make a ¼-inch hole in the center of each seed starting cell. A #2 pencil eraser is a great tool for making these holes.
    3. Place your seed and cover gently with soil.
You can plant up to 4 seeds per cell to help ensure successful germination.
  • 4. Place your heat mat under  your base tray and your humidity dome on top. For best results, set your temperature controller between 75 - 80 degrees.

    5. Place your plant light above the seed starting tray and turn on. Refer to the plant light manufacturers instructions for the optimal distance. Plant light should remain on for 14 to 16 hours per day.

    6. Enjoy watching them grow! See our full instruction page below for more information.
