Mike joins us for this week's "pep"-isode of Pepper Talk and takes a stab at the Bleeding Borg 9, a pepper registering over 1,000,000 SHUs on the Scoville scale and packs so much heat that, to quote Mike, it "emanates from parts of your face that you didn't even know existed!"
About the Bleeding Borg 9
The Borg 9 chili comes with a bit of history. Jon Harper, an expert grower from the United Kingdom, crossed this pepper between the 7 Pot Bubblegum and Naglah (Bhut Jolokia x 7 Pot Douglah). Although not sure why it’s called the Borg 9, some say it was named after the actor Ernest Borgnine. What we do know is he included the word ‘bleeding’ into the name because the color of the pepper bleeds up the calyx and the stem.
