Description:

A cross between a Red Trinidad 7 Pot and a Naga Viper, the 7 Pot Katie packs a punch with a fruity flavor. This pepper hails from the U.K. as their hottest-bred pepper and was created by Nick Duran - aka "Naga Nick."

The 7 Pot Katie pepper plants are very productive and can grow over 4' tall. The pepper pods grow bountifully on these sturdy plants and will reach between 1-3" long, ripening from green to dark red when mature. 7 Pot Katie peppers are shaped like mini pendants and have wrinkly skin to show off how devilishly hot these peppers really are!

The 7 Pot varieties are named for the ability to spice up 7 pots of stew with one pod. 7 Pot Katies taste like a bowl of ultimate fire when you take the first bite! If you're looking to add a crazy amount of heat to your cooking, this is the pepper to choose.

*Non-Isolated - Disclaimer: While some of our varieties marked non-isolated were isolated when grown, they are an unstable pepper seed variety that may produce plants with genetic variations, making them less predictable and consistent in terms of traits such as flavor, size, and heat level. While this can lead to unique and exciting variations, it's important to note that these seeds may not reliably reproduce the same characteristics from one generation to the next. Planting non-isolated/unstable pepper seeds can be an adventurous gardening experience, but be prepared for some degree of variability in the resulting pepper plants. We will not be able to offer replacements for variation in traits.

Nope. Nothing.

I gave these seeds eight weeks to sprout and I got a 0% germination on them. Every other seed I got outside of these made about a 98% germination rate and then these. I planted a single seed in every cell of two six packs and saw them sit empty for two months before I finally gave up and went to toss them. I kept them domed, damp and on a heat mat all that time and when I finally gave up, I decided to do a little digging to see what happened exactly since everything else for the most part sprouted (2 NuMex Big Jim and 2 NuMex Twilight from the NuMex bundle didn't sprout outside of this MASSIVE issue) the seeds hadn't done anything. One seed had a single tail and I attempted to let it be just slightly closer to the surface, full meticulous care back in over drive. I planted the last week of February. The first week of March and I've finally given up. I don't even want replacements at this point. Send me something that will actually sprout next time. How is it the Super Hot mystery seeds ALL sprouted, every other seed had a very high germination rate but these seeds couldn't give me one scraggly plant?

Hello, hot peppers can be tricky to germinate. Here is the process we follow and see 95% success rate across the board. They are very particular to soil temp requiring 80-85* and can take up to 6 weeks to germinate. I hope this helps! Let us know what other questions you may have!

  • What You'll Need

    Soil and Tray Method

    Seed Starting Supplies
  • Plant your Seeds

    1. Pre-saturate your seed starting soil mix. Ensure the seed starting mix is fully saturated prior to planting your seed.
    2. Make a ¼-inch hole in the center of each seed starting cell. A #2 pencil eraser is a great tool for making these holes.
    3. Place your seed and cover gently with soil.
You can plant up to 4 seeds per cell to help ensure successful germination.
  • 4. Place your heat mat under  your base tray and your humidity dome on top. For best results, set your temperature controller between 75 - 80 degrees.

    5. Place your plant light above the seed starting tray and turn on. Refer to the plant light manufacturers instructions for the optimal distance. Plant light should remain on for 14 to 16 hours per day.

    6. Enjoy watching them grow! See our full instruction page below for more information.
