Padron

Padron Pepper Seeds

Size

Also known as the Pimiento de Padron pepper, Pimento Padron peppers, or small green Spanish peppers, this is a famous Spanish heirloom named after the town where they were originated. This is a unique and delightful little pepper with a variety of traditional uses. Although you can pick the Padron chili pepper when they are matured to their green or red stage, we recommend harvesting them when they grow 2-3 inches long.  Gourmet gardeners will love growing the Padron pepper seed for their productivity, their flavors and heat, and easy maintenance.

The peppers grow abundantly on vigorous plants that will bear pods early and for a longer season. They have spice in them, but less spice than a Jalapeño, and the red Padrons have a sweeter flavor. These mild yet flavorful peppers are typically sautéed in olive oil with a pinch of salt and eaten as an appetizer in Spanish regions. Fully ripened fruits get up to 2-3" long. These peppers take 60 days to reach maturity.

Once you taste these savory little peppers, you’ll want to keep eating more!

Fun Fact:What makes this pepper interesting is that only a small percentage which is 1 out of 20 of the small peppers are considered hot! The rest will be mild. It surely will be a fun guessing game!

Thanks, I appreciate your asking. they only say padron, but I am assuming they are pimento de padron?

Very productive plants!

I'm growing three padron plants right now. These are easily the largest and most productive plants of the 10 peppers im growing this year. Very good germination rates as well. I'd recommend these.

Super hot compared to expected SHU

Grew these peppers in a tent two other kinds of non-super hot peppers. They turned out very hot - habanero level spicy. Aside from the unexpected heat, they had very good flavor and have produced nicely so far. Not sure if others are experiencing the same - but the SHU level on mine is no where near 2,500.
