Chocolate Habanero Pepper Plant Info

Species: Capsicum Chinense

Heat Level:  300,000-450,000 Scoville Heat Units

Type: Hot

Origin: Caribbean

Seedling Age: 3-4 Months

Unique and versatile, the Chocolate Habanero pepper will soon become one of your preferred chocolate, hot peppers. Also known as the Brown Congo and the Habanero Chocolate, it is both exotic and an exciting Chile to grow.  The pods are slightly larger than the typical habaneros and they start as emerald-green before ripening to a dark brown color. Just don’t get this pepper mixed up with spicy candy because it packs a MAJOR punch. The flavors consist of earthy, rich, and smoky undertones that complement their typical habanero sweetness. There is so much flavor packed in these little chocolate fruits that you cannot miss out on this!

WARNING: Plants adjust to small, gradual changes in their environment better than sudden shifts, which is what the hardening off process is all about. Just as you get burned when you bare your untanned skin to the sun, leaves of plants started indoors will develop pale, sunburned patches if they are suddenly exposed to too much sun. The story has a happier ending when you introduce seedlings to bright light and sheltered breezes gradually, over a period of one to three weeks. Read more information on how to harden off and transplant pepper plants in 6 steps.

My plants are doing amazing!!

My Chocolate habanero is about 26” tall. Huge beautiful leaves. Nice thick stock.
Throwing a couple pre flowers. Hoping some set in and I get some fruit in the next coming month.

Great product

The scotch bonnets, yellow habaneros and chocolate habaneros arrived about 50 days ago healthy. We have not had any peppers yet but the summer has been unusually hot and dry. They have grown slowly and we are starting to see flowers so hopefully it will be a fruitful sept and oct.

Better then I expected!

I received my plants in excellent condition and shipped with care. My plants are thriving despite my attempts. 😁 I will be buying from Pepper Joes again.
